-
We recommend that all people that would like to make key decisions are present for the site visit & design consultation. During the appointment, we will assess the available space & access, advise on a suitable building size & location. We will work with you to design your Garden Room by recommending door & window positions & sizes suitable for your proposed space. We will also discuss the interior & exterior options as well as your electrical requirements. By the end of the consultation, we will both have a clear understanding of the layout of your building as well as any necessary preparation work required, if neccessary.
-
In most cases, you won’t need to prepare anything beforehand. As long as we can access & clearly view the boundaries to measure the area, that should be fine. We will advise if any overhanging trees or shrubs may require clearing if necessary prior to work starting on site.
-
Because we use a ground screw foundation system it is not vital that the ground is level where we will be installing your Garden Room. If, however, the ground has a fall across the building then it may be required to have a step constructed to compensate for this which can be incorporated within the installation process.
-
No, we will work around any sheds or out buildings you have existing, however once the building has been removed prior to our installation we will require a photo of the existing ground conditions prior to our ground screw installation team come to site
-
All of the wall sections for your Garden Room are generally built in our workshop & will be approximately 2.1M in height. Depending on the size of your building, we will require enough access to allow for the height & length of these sections to be manoeuvred around your property. We will confirm that the access is acceptable during the site visit.
-
During our site visit, we will discuss the options for connecting the new consumer unit in the Garden Room to the main fusebox within the property. We use a fully qualified electrician for all our electrical installations so it may be necessary for him to visit the site to assess the best route for the armoured cable as well as check your existing main consumer unit to confirm you have the capacity to run from it to the Garden Room. If you don’t, he will recommend installing a sub consumer unit for us to connect to. Once the Garden Room has been installed, we will provide a Part P Electrical Installation Certificate to sign off with.
-
All of our Garden Rooms are built to order & may vary in specification dependant on your requirements, therefore we aim to provide you with your quote & full building specification within 24 to 48 hours after the initial site visit.
-
Unless specifically requested, we do not provide a detailed CAD drawing. We do however generate a hand sketched drawing during the site visit to make sure that the design layout including the orientation of the Garden Room showing window & door positions & sizes is agreed prior to providing our quote. If you require a CAD drawing showing plans, elevations or sections this can be supplied. We charge £200 which is non non-refundable.
-
We aim to be able to provide a free site visit & design consultation within one week of your initial enquiry.
